UpTop Moments: Athletics Edition
It started with a saying coined by co-founder Luke Anderson. UpTop: That moment of elation jumping to meet a teammate or friend in the air (depending on vertical leap). Becoming a universal sign of celebration, specifically on athletic fields of all shapes and sizes, players delivering UpTops are everywhere.
At UpTop, we promise to help you enjoy life. Enjoy these videos of celebrations, moments of joy and moments of, "did that really just happen?"
#1: Cal versus Stanford
UpTop Moment: True, there really isn't an "UpTop" in this video, but the moment is enough to make you forever remember that the game isn't over 'till it's over. In a perfectly timed celebration, the special teams player from Cal can be seen tomahawking some poor Tuba player ... or maybe it's a trombone. Either way, ouch.
#2: The Shot
UpTop Moment: This is Michael Jordan in his prime. 1989, NBA playoffs, Bulls vs. Cavs fighting for a chance to play for the title. To end the game, Jordan found the ice in his veins and celebrated in historic fashion. We now know this as "The Shot."
#3: Finish what You Started
UpTop Moment: Sometimes opportunity can strike when you least expect it. Through thunderous cheering and celebration, Oregon defenseman never hear a whistle. Calmly picking the ball up at the one yard line ... well just watch and check it out.
#4: Never Give Up
UpTop Moment: Against all odds, Auburn finds a way to win vs. Alabama in the Iron Bowl. Some of the best moments happen when they're least expected.
#5 Madness
UpTop Moment: There's a reason they call it March Madness. The most unbelievable moments of heartbreak and celebration happen simultaneously. This year's NCAA National Championship game did not disappoint. Starting with this dagger from UNC's Marcus Paige.
But seconds later, at the buzzer, the Wildcats had different plans.
